Myanmar(Burma) Consulting Case of New Luxury Hotel Company A

Preliminary consultation

Confirm the desired business concept through prior consultation with the customer

Desire to operate an in-house laundry facility at a luxury hotel with approximately 700 rooms.

Expectation of an occupancy rate of over 80%.

Hope to handle laundry processing for rooms, uniform laundry and management, as well as guest laundry in-house.

In-depth analysis

Diversified analysis and suitability/feasibility review of the materials obtained through the client's own preliminary research

existing design plan
100kg x 3ea
70kg x 2ea
50kg x 1ea
Total equipment capacity : 490kg

If technology for high-quality standards is applied, the available daily capacity is estimated at approximately 3,136kg (daily processing capacity).

Insufficient capacity of laundry equipment

Based on the preliminary research, it was determined that the client's needs could not be met.

  • 1. [700 rooms] x [laundry volume per room] x [expected average occupancy rate] = approximately 4,480kg of laundry generated per day.
  • 2. The expected laundry volume from auxiliary facilities, users, and uniforms is about 10-15% of the average room laundry volume, which indicates that laundry equipment with a capacity to handle at least 4,900kg per day is required.

Proposal

Identify and correct any aspects of the design that do not align with the business concept or are lacking, and propose the optimal solution.

existing design plan

Revise the proposal by adjusting the equipment capacity to the laundry types and expected volumes, suggesting the most appropriate capacity for the hotel’s in-house laundry facility.

100kg x 3ea 150kg x 3ea
70kg x 2ea 100kg x 3ea
50kg x 1ea 50kg x 1ea
  25kg x 2ea
Total : 490kg -> 850kg
Maximum daily volume : 3,200kg -> 4,600kg
  • First, select the appropriate laundry equipment capacity, then propose suitable drying, dry cleaning, pressing, and finishing equipment based on that capacity.
  • Based on the revised and supplemented details, create a simulation layout considering equipment and facility flow on the blueprints.
  • Based on the revised details, create blueprints and suggest modeling for reference

  • After proposing equipment through comprehensive analysis and blueprint work, conduct a site visit to confirm the actual installation conditions and prepare for pre-construction work needed for the delivery schedule, collaborating with construction, facility, and other relevant stakeholders

Delivery and installation

After the equipment inspection by the company's professional agency is completed, the client's re-inspection will be conducted, and the delivery, transportation, and installation work will be coordinated with the client.

  • Once the equipment is placed in the laundry room and the connection work with key facilities is completed, test runs will be conducted for each piece of equipment.
  • After the test operation is completed, training will be provided for the end-users on how to use and maintain the equipment.
  • Focused training will include equipment usage, precautions, recommendations, regular inspection items, maintenance, and troubleshooting for errors.
  • For consumable parts used in the equipment, spare parts will be provided for immediate replacement, and users will be trained on how to perform the replacement.

A/S & B/S

  • During the warranty period, regular visits will be made to conduct user training and equipment inspections.
  • Continuous communication will be maintained with the client's operational staff to address any issues related to equipment usage or part replacements, resolving them remotely via photos or videos.
  • In cases where the issue cannot be resolved remotely, if a site visit is requested, a report will be submitted to the client detailing the actions taken and any issues found on-site to ensure smooth operation.
